China's export volume continues to grow steadily, with increasing product exports driving the development of the testing and certification industry. Products exported overseas must comply with local standards to be sold in those markets. As most readers are aware, exporting products to the EU requires obtaining CE certification. So how can one expedite the CE certification process?
Specific Procedures for Obtaining CE Certification:
I. Consultation
You may submit your preliminary application intent via phone, fax, or email (e.g., product categories, certification type, specific models and specifications, product samples and descriptions).
Based on the information provided, we will recommend the optimal certification solution, outline pre-testing documentation and drawing requirements, and provide a preliminary cost estimate. Concurrently, we will furnish you with the Application Form and Agency Authorization Notice for completion.
II. Application
Please return the signed and stamped Application Form and Agency Authorization Notice to our company, and prepare the required supporting documentation as specified.
Upon receiving these documents, we will formally accept your application, assign a project number, and draft the “Certification Agency Agreement” (a bilateral contract outlining mutual responsibilities and obligations, prepared in duplicate).
III. Contract Signing
Please return the signed and stamped Agreement to our company and pay the relevant fees as stipulated in the Agreement;
Upon receiving the signed Agreement and payment confirmation, we will assign a dedicated project engineer to manage your project and coordinate with suitable laboratories and engineers.
IV. Technical Support (Optional)
Upon your request, our project engineer will:
- Explain standards and safety requirements relevant to your product
- Arrange preliminary testing and structural pre-inspection
- Translate Chinese documentation into English
Fees for the above technical support will be determined based on the specific workload.
V. Test Submission Preparation
Our project engineer will promptly update you on communication progress with the certification body, notify you of sample requirements and exact costs for testing or retesting, and provide the documentation required by the certification body for signature (e.g., certification body application forms, structural parameter sheets, follow-up service agreements).
Please prepare the samples, documentation, and testing fees as requested and submit them to our project engineer.
VI. Test Submission
Our project engineers will submit your samples, documentation, and fees to the relevant certification body or laboratory. They will continuously monitor the certification project's progress, provide timely feedback on test results, and follow through until the project's completion.
VII. Retesting
If any non-conformities are identified during testing, you may revise the samples, resubmit them for retesting, or cancel the project and reapply when conditions are favorable.
Our engineers will provide corrective recommendations and assist with sample modifications.
VIII. Initial Factory Inspection or Pre-Certification Audit
After project initiation, the certification body or its designated inspection agency will conduct an initial factory inspection or pre-certification audit (excluding CE certification) to verify compliance of your testing and production processes. Passing this inspection is a prerequisite for obtaining authorization or certification.
Our project engineers can assist with relevant preparatory work.
IX. Follow-Up Services (Optional)
After certification concludes, we offer a range of annual services tailored to your needs, including: purchasing labels and yellow cards, translating correspondence and documentation, handling fee payments, updating modification pages, and processing change requests.
