The Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 2014/68/EU is an EU regulation specifically for pressure equipment, issued to harmonize the pressure equipment regulations of member states and eliminate trade barriers. The old PED Directive 97/23/EC became obsolete in July 2016. Products exported to EU countries must comply with PED regulations, undergo supervision by third-party inspection bodies, and complete corresponding certification work, including review of design documents, supervision of the manufacturing process, and on-site installation inspection. Meanwhile, manufacturers must provide various documents such as material tests and design manufacturing in accordance with the certification requirements of the PED Directive. These documents must be signed and confirmed by an authorized body before being submitted to relevant authorities for approval. Only after approval can the manufacturer proceed with production.
