1. What is AZO (Azo Dyes)?
AZO (Azo dyes) are the most widely used class of synthetic dyes in textile printing and dyeing processes, used for dyeing and printing a variety of natural and synthetic fibers, and also for coloring paints, plastics, rubber, etc.
2. Hazards of AZO (Azo Dyes):
Under specific conditions, they can decompose to produce more than 20 carcinogenic aromatic amines, which can alter human DNA structure through activation, leading to diseases and inducing cancer. Azo dyes are currently the largest category of dyes. During production and application, about 10%-15% of dyes are discharged into the environment untreated and may severely affect the health of those exposed.
