1. CPSIA Testing Introduction:
The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) was signed into law by President Bush on August 14, 2008. This law is the most stringent consumer protection legislation since the establishment of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) in 1972. In addition to stricter lead content requirements for children's products, the new law also sets new regulations on the content of phthalates in toys and childcare products. Furthermore, the act requires the establishment of a public consumer product safety database.

3. Relationship between CPSC and CPSIA:
1) CPSC is an important U.S. consumer rights protection agency, which stands for Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC is equivalent to an official organization name for the management of consumer products.
2) CPSIA, the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act, was signed into law by President Bush on August 14, 2008. This law is the most stringent consumer protection legislation since the establishment of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) in 1972.
3) CPSIA is the control act formulated by CPSC for consumer products, especially children's products, involving specific requirements, such as CPSIA stipulating that lead content shall not exceed 100ppm/90ppm, and phthalate content shall not exceed 1000ppm.
4) CPSC is the commission, and the act formulated by the CPSC Commission is CPSIA. Of course, CPSC does not only have this act; there are other requirements, such as small parts testing 16CFR 1501, etc. However, for lead and phthalates, they are generally referred to as CPSIA lead and CPSIA phthalates.
