1. Overview of Low Voltage CE Certification:
To align with the EU's New Legislative Framework (NLF), on March 29, 2014, the Official Journal of the European Union published the new version of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU, replacing the previous Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/EC.
2. Core Requirements of Low Voltage Directive CE Certification:
A. General Requirements
a) To ensure the safe use of electrical equipment according to its intended purpose, the product should be marked with its usage characteristics, identification, and compliance instructions. If difficult, this information may be provided in the instruction manual.
b) Clearly mark the manufacturer's name, trade name, or trademark on the electrical product. If difficult, it may be printed on the packaging.
c) Electrical equipment and its components must be manufactured to ensure safe and proper connection and assembly.
d) The design and manufacture of electrical equipment must ensure compliance with the requirements of sections B and C below when used and maintained within its intended purpose.
B. Preventing Hazards Caused by Electrical Equipment
a) Avoid risks of physical injury or other harm to persons or livestock caused by direct or indirect contact with electricity.
b) Do not generate temperatures, arcs, or radiation that may cause hazards.
c) Adequately protect persons, livestock, and property from non-electrical hazards caused by electrical equipment, as identified through experience.
d) Insulation must be suitable for all foreseeable conditions.
C. Preventing Hazards from External Factors Affecting Electrical Equipment
a) Electrical products shall meet expected mechanical requirements to protect persons, livestock, and property from hazards.
b) Electrical products shall resist non-mechanical influencing factors under intended environmental conditions to protect persons, livestock, and property from hazards.
c) Electrical products shall not endanger the safety of persons, livestock, and property under foreseeable overload conditions.
3. Documentation Required for Low Voltage Directive CE Certification Technical Consultation:
1) Description of the electrical equipment;
2) Design principles, components, and circuit diagrams;
3) Descriptions and explanations necessary to understand the above drawings and the operation of the electrical equipment;
4) List of standards fully or partially applied, and explanations of measures taken to meet the safety requirements of this directive where standards were not applied;
