1. Overview of Mechanical Shock Testing:
Mechanical shock testing primarily simulates the impact effects that equipment and its components may encounter during transportation or use. By analyzing the instantaneous transient energy exchange of shock waves, it evaluates the product's ability to withstand external shock environments. The test aims to identify structural weaknesses and functional degradation, helping to understand the product's structural strength and its resistance to impacts, drops, and other characteristics. This effectively assesses product reliability and monitors production line consistency.
2. Applicable Product Range for Mechanical Shock Testing:
Applicable to electronic product units, packaging, and any products involved in transportation.
Shock types include: half-sine, trapezoidal wave (square wave), triangular wave (forward and trailing sawtooth waves).
3. Application of Mechanical Shock
Unless otherwise specified in the relevant standard, three consecutive shocks shall be applied in each of the three mutually perpendicular axes of the product, totaling 18 shocks. Typically, the long side of the product is defined as the X-axis, the short side as the Y-axis, and the vertical direction as the Z-axis.
Mechanical shock testing applications: automotive products, electronic and electrical components, communication products, PCBs, PCBAs, instruments, household appliances, medical devices, transport packaging, and all products involved in transportation.
Mechanical shock testing reference standards: GB/T 2423.5, IEC 60068-2-27, IEC 61373, GB/T 21563, etc.
