Salt Spray Testing

Salt spray corrosion is a common and highly destructive form of atmospheric corrosion. Salt spray testing is an environmental test that primarily uses artificially simulated salt spray conditions created by salt spray test equipment to evaluate the corrosion resistance of products or metal materials. Salt spray tests are divided into two main categories: 1. Natural environment exposure tests, 2. Artificially accelerated simulated salt spray environment tests. The artificially simulated salt spray environment test uses a test equipment called a "salt spray test chamber" to create a salt spray environment within its volume space through artificial methods to evaluate the quality of a product's resistance to salt spray corrosion. Compared to natural environments, the chloride salt concentration in the salt spray environment can be several times or even dozens of times higher than that in natural environments, greatly accelerating the corrosion rate. Conducting salt spray tests on products significantly shortens the time required to obtain results.

Alternating Salt Spray Testing

The Alternating Cyclic Salt Spray Test combines salt spray testing and temperature/humidity testing to accelerate product corrosion. The test typically involves multiple cycles, simulating extreme climatic conditions such as humid heat and dry heat encountered in real-world environments. Compared to conventional salt spray tests, the alternating cyclic salt spray test provides a more accurate assessment of a sample's actual corrosion state and is considered one of the most stringent types of salt spray tests. Conducting cyclic salt spray corrosion testing during the early development phase of metal components is crucial for effective corrosion control and significantly extends the service life of metal parts.

Gas Corrosion Testing

The gas corrosion test utilizes gases such as sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, chlorine, and hydrogen sulfide to accelerate corrosion on materials or products under specific temperature and relative humidity conditions. It reproduces the damage level that materials or products would suffer within a certain time frame and allows for the comparison of the quality of similar protective coatings. It is used to determine the adaptability of components, electronic elements, metal materials, electrical and electronic products' protective coatings, and industrial products when working or stored in mixed gas environments, especially the corrosion resistance of contacts and connectors.

Ozone Aging Testing

The ozone aging test primarily targets rubber products. Ozone reacts with the double bonds in rubber, forming primary ozonides, which then decompose into substances such as ketones and alcohols. Ozone aging typically begins on the surface of rubber products, initially forming a film that subsequently cracks. Under external forces, this film easily ruptures and peels off, exposing fresh surfaces that then react with ozone and age. Thus, moving rubber products continuously thin out, with aging progressing vertically until the rubber is completely destroyed.
